How to Volunteer

Volunteer with AYSO!

AYSO runs on the power of our volunteers and with over 100,000 parents, neighbors, relatives and friends lending their time and talents, each child gets a terrific AYSO experience. Help make a difference in the lives of the kids in your community today!

Available volunteer opportunities include:

Registrar:
We’re looking for someone to join the Ossining AYSO Board of Directors and partner with our Region Commissioner as our Registrar. This is an incredibly valuable position in our organization. The Registrar’s role is to organize and implement the annual registration of players and volunteers. The primary responsibilities of the Registrar include: Planning the annual registration of all players and volunteers with the CVPA and Treasurer, Maintaining a waiting list for players who sign up after teams are balanced and filled, Reconciling registrations forms with fees paid for each registration event, Ensuring all players are registered, Ensuring the National Player Fees are paid. Learn more about the registrar role.

Clinic Coordinator: We’re looking for someone who can help supervise coaches and volunteers for our 5U and 6U division clinic on Saturday afternoons at Nelson Park. Experience or training is needed in basic soccer skills: ball handling, passing and shooting, and basic rules of the game. We’ll also need you to plan and supervise small-sided games.

Coaches: We’re always looking for new coaches. No experience is necessary. You’re likely going to be at practices and games anyway, so why not help out while you’re there? This is a great opportunity to learn more about the game along with your child. AYSO has developed special training to help volunteers who may have little or no soccer experience quickly gain the age-appropriate knowledge and skills they need to become outstanding coaches. To become an AYSO coach, you must be certified in the age level you will be coaching. Certification takes three easy steps.

Referees: The referee’s job is to be the official in charge of the game. A referee’s authority extends to everyone at the field, including players, substitutes, team officials, spectators, and even assistant referees. AYSO Referees keep the game safe, fair and fun for everyone: the players, the coaches, the spectators, and themselves!  We will provide you with online learning, downloadable age-specific Referee Manuals and more.

Administrators and more: Every AYSO Region is led by a team of administrators and a Region Board who help with strategy and implementation of creating a great soccer program for your community.
